More features coming soon! David Broza uses the power of music to heal and promote peace and unity wherever he goes, and he is active in more than just a few volunteer projects. He is involved with the peace movement in Israel and works closely with the experimental village Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam, an Arab-Israeli settlement his grandfather co-founded to promote cross-cultural understanding and harmony. He designed the Hamsa pendant with well-known jewelry designer Rachel Fuchs for the Epcot Center at Florida's Walt Disney World in order to honor and raise funds for the efforts of Givat Haviva and its "Children Teaching Children" project, an educational program that joins Arab and Jewish youth. He also performed a benefit concert for the organization Seeds of Peace in 1999 to raise funds for educating Israeli/Palestinian and other youth for leadership, understanding and peaceful co-existence. Other causes that David has committed himself to are M.U.S.E. (Musicians United for Schools and Education) in Cresskill, NJ, an organization that promotes education for art, and SPEEWAK in Ramat Gan, Israel , a club for the disabled which his family helped to establish and David himself has been involved with since childhood. Appointed goodwill ambassador to UNICEF, David wrote the song "Together" with lyricist Ramsey MacLean to celebrate UNICEF's 50th anniversary, and it was heard in over 148 countries. Even after all that, David says, "...I haven't even begun...". In the near future, this section will offer forums hosted personally by David in order to raise awareness to the different humanitarian issues he is involved with and current topics which concern and interest him. We invite you to check for the launching of this section where you will be able to meet with others, explore and add your own personal point of view! |
